KB is a young collector and rider drawn to the rhythm and refinement of two worlds: Japanese woodblock prints and classical dressage.
My grandfather, a painter, first introduced me to impressionism as young child, and a visit to Monet’s home in Giverny sparked my fascination with Japonisme and the Western admiration of Ukiyo-e. That thread eventually led me to Shin Hanga, where I fell completely in love at first sight after encountering Hiroshi Yoshida’s After Rain at Kagurazaka.
On the equestrian side, my mother and grandmother were pleasure horse trainers, but I gravitated toward dressage—the discipline that marries precision with artistry, much like the pattern classes I loved as a child. I also greatly value the longevity dressage offers to both horse and rider.
This site, Collected Movements, is a place where I gather and share my journeys—through prints, through riding, and through life itself. By day, I’m a senior software engineer, a wife, and a gardener, always seeking balance between tradition and modernity, structure and beauty.
As always, feel free to contact me via the Contact Page. I’d love to hear from you.
